6. Troubleshooting

• Overlay not showing / No measurements:

  • Ensure "Enable Overlay" is checked in the N-Panel.

  • Make sure you are in Edit Mode on a Mesh object.

  • Ensure you have a valid selection:

    • At least two vertices selected, OR

    • At least one edge selected.

    • At least one polygon selected.

  • If selecting many edges or vertices, you might be exceeding the "Max Vertices Limit". Try reducing your selection or increasing the limit in Addon Preferences (be mindful of performance).

  • Check if "Show Recommendation," "Show Line," or "Show Distance" are enabled in the N-Panel's Display Options.

• Text is too small/large or in an awkward position:

  • Adjust "Font Size," "Offset X," and "Offset Y" in the N-Panel's Display Options.

• Blender is slow when NOVA ARC is active with large selections:

  • Increase the "Overlay Update Interval" in Addon Preferences.

  • Decrease the "Max Vertices Limit (Edges)" in Addon Preferences.

• Recommendation rules seem incorrect:

  • Check your "Diameter Settings" in the N-Panel. Ensure the "Diameter Thresholds" and "Min/Max Sides" are logical.

  • Remember the recommendation logic: it finds the largest threshold less than or equal to your measurement.

  • Use the "Sort" button to organize rules by diameter, which can make them easier to understand.

  • Verify the "Units" setting in "Diameter Settings" matches what you expect for input.

• Presets not saving/loading:

  • Ensure you are not trying to modify or overwrite the "Default" preset. Create a new preset for custom settings.

  • When importing, ensure the .json file is a valid NOVA ARC preset file.
