NOVA ARC Documentation
NOVA ARC is a Blender addon designed to assist 3D artists and modelers by providing real-time distance/diameter measurements and intelligent recommendations for segment counts on curved surfaces or cylindrical forms. This helps maintain optimal mesh density and visual quality based on configurable rules.
Key Features:
Live Measurement: Displays the distance between two selected vertices or the maximum span of selected edges or polygons.
Segment Recommendations: Suggests minimum and "good" segment counts based on the measured diameter.
Configurable Units: Supports Millimeters (mm), Centimeters (cm), Meters (m), and Inches (in) for display.
Customizable Rules: Define your own diameter thresholds and corresponding segment recommendations.
Presets: Save, load, import, and export your recommendation rule sets.
Customizable Overlay: Control the appearance of the 2D text and 3D measurement line (colors, size, position).
QA Mode: A special display mode to compare the current segment count of selected edges against the recommended range.
Performance Controls: Adjust update frequency and calculation limits to balance responsiveness and CPU load.
The addon is accessible via the 3D View Sidebar (N-Panel) under the "NOVA ARC" tab and through Addon Preferences.
